But sugar.....hmmmm.....I know what you're saying, but sugar ???

I grew up in a household where "a nice cup of tea" had sugar as the main ingredient. It was my good fortune that I was a faddy eater right into my teens and one of the things I went off pretty much overnight was sugar. It seems odd to me now, knowing what a hard time folk have giving it up, but these days I think of it as stuff that ruins a nice drink rather than enhances.

I'm not one of those SUGAR IS POISON folk, mind, but it's not the sort of stuff you'll miss if you can bite the bullet and give it up. Like I said, it doesn't necessarily turn you off the things that're supposed to be sweet but does seem to alter the perceptions WRT the "hidden" sugars. I'd sooner have my salad naked than have so much as a splash of low fat dressing for example.
