My Jeopardy! check arrived over the weekend, so now it's time to get serious about buying a new car. I've pretty much decided on a Toyota Prius. My wife has been kind enough to do some initial research on my behalf, but I still have some questions.

First, there are three option packages available through the Web site. I'm interested in mixing and matching, and I'm in no hurry to take delivery. Is this feasible? If it matters, Ms. 63 (she kept her maiden number) has identified five local Toyota dealerships that are within relatively convenient driving distance.

Second, I assume that the dealers have essentially no price flexibility. Am I right? If it matters, I plan to pay cash, although I would probably accept a no-interest financing option.

Third, I understand that there's a $2000 above-the-line tax break for purchasing a new Prius. Do I need to ensure that I take delivery this year in order to enjoy that break, or is it good enough merely to commit to the order?

Thanks for any help. --Bob
