Just remains to be seen whether the Jets will release him, trade him or let him remain one of the emergency back-up QB's behind Geno.

Geno Smith scouting report from Pro Football Weekly:

"not a student of the game"

"not committed or focused"

"marginal work ethic"

"nonchalant field presense, does not command respect from teamates"

"has small hands and glaring ball security with 32 career fumbles"

"struggled with handling snow, took two safties in Pinsripe Bowl...

Still, I didn't see "runs into his lineman's butt and fumbles", so advantage Geno.

I don't think they'll keep both Sanchez and Tebow. I think they'll axe one now and keep the other as a backup. If Sanchez is the one who goes, they might try to do a trade to minimize the cap hit, but they might have to take somebody else's reject in return to do that.

Geno Smith scouting report from Pro Football Weekly:

First of all, I didn't say that he was going to be "good", did I?

Second of all, even if half of those are true, he could still be "better" than Sanchez.

According to an article in the NYTimes today, Tebow is more likely to go first.

AFA Sanchez goes, if they cut him before June 1, the salary cap hit is about $17.1mil. If they designate him a "June 1 cut", the charge will be spread over 2013 ($12.3mil) and 2014 ($4.8mil).

Geno could wear #8 and get the tattoo re-worked into a #8.

Tebow is bad, but Sanchez is completely worthless and being paid way too much. They may as well cut him after June 1.

And they were right.

Wonder how many times Tebow used the word "excited" after he was released?

the J-E-T-S could not have possibly been any worse if Tim Tebow started all 16 games last year...

Agreed, if Tebow had started all 16 games the Jets would be in better shape now with a top-3 pick in the draft.
