Anyone know if there is camping (NOT trailer camping) near Cahokia mounds? I visited their official site and couldn't find any information about "where to stay."We really want to camp and not stay in a hotel. Thanks,Jennifer
I did a three day road trip to St Louis last fall, and Cahokia was one of the sights that we visited. It really is a fascinating place. I climbed to the top of the largest mound that they have, and surveyed the remains of the old Indian village. You can just imagine what it looked like "in the day." Anyway, what I would do is scope of the camping areas in the area north/northeast of St Louis. I'm sure you know to stay away from East St Louis. There should be some camping area around there. Good luck and have fun.Thought you were going to China?
Thought you were going to China?Doing both :-) We live close enough to Cahokia so that we can get there and visit in one day, camp overnight and drive back the next. I have a little over a month before I go to China.Jennifer
