Canadians have been griping for years about the exchange rate. Maybe it's now our turn. Can't say I've ever thought much of the strong dollar policy, that increases our trade deficit in the hope of bringing in foreign capital (to create a stock bubble and make people feel like they have money they don't really).

Paying by credit card has advantages: one is that you will sometimes get a favorable exchange rate, since the credit card company can choose when to cash in and look for a good day. Penny ante, though, for the consumer. I saw in the Guardian that the pound is doing badly.
