Hello all,

I have just found an interesting link to something called GainsKeeper. This link was on my etrade home page. It supposedly is software that will prepare your Schedule D for you, including accounting for wash sales.

You enter your transactoins, then it gives you the Schedule D.

As I unfortunately, have some a wash sale scenario to report this year, I was wondering if anyone has used this.

They offer a free 30 day trial, so I thought I would do my own calculations and prepare my Schedule D, then try their free service and make sure it matches.

Apparently , the service is $49 a year if you want to keep using it. But it seems you could get your 2000 Schedule D or just confirm your own calculations using the free trial.

Any thoughts? comments?
