I am seeking some advice. When we met 14 yrs ago, it was important to me that my partner was not involved in politics as I stopped voting after the Gore/Bush election. I’d prefer less government in my personal life (ie medical decisions such as abortion and vaccination) and don’t want to see astronomical taxes either. He didn’t vote when we met and politics weren’t a part of our lives until the past year or so. I’ve focused on homeschooling our daughter, saving for her future and for our retirement. It’s always been my understanding that there is money to be made no matter who is in office. Now, my husband is listening to black conservatives (he is Italian from south philly, born and raised). He’s telling me that a Biden win along with Democratic majority in the house and senate means that we will be part of “The Great Reset.” It’s going to be “A Dark Winter” basically, mass suicides and unofficial civil war (class war, race war, continued biological warfare along with vaccines that aren’t tested or safe, etc) where in the end, money is redistributed in a socialist system. PLEASE... can I get some solid resources that democracy and capitalism will continue to be our country’s system of governance? He says that as a college graduate (w/ an M.Ed) that I am too brainwashed to see what’s happening. All these conspiracies and the fear-mongering are making me sick. I can’t eat, I hardly sleep. I’m scared for our daughter. I just need to know that the middle class is not going to disappear. I can go back to work as a teacher, put my daughter in school (when it physically opens again) and keep following the Fool philosophy (which has brought amazing gains over the past year since I found and subscribed to the service) as well as contribute to my 403(b).
This isn’t meant to cause arguments between the two sides. PLEASE don’t argue, I will just remove the post. I need to hear the voices of reason from both sides and know that there is hope for the future, not doom and gloom.
