carinder: i live in red state indiana it is so wonderful that my property taxes have doubled in the last 14 years and i am driving over potholes older than that...they have raised the gas tax twice in the last 12 months....the road tax money got dumped in the states general fund and can be used for whatever they want to use that for ...

I have learned a wonderful word from my readings at TMF. Fungible. adjective Law.
(especially of goods) being of such nature or kind as to be freely exchangeable or replaceable, in whole or in part, for another of like nature or kind.

Money is fungible. Once money is in the general fund it loses its identity as being for roads, for schools, or for the reduction of belly button lint. It's just money. See Social Security or Medicare. Moneys raised for those purposes is just money to the politicians, and can be used to provide tax breaks to the very rich. Then they say that Social Security and Medicare are running out of money! They are entitlements(!) and need to be reduced (or eliminated.

Yet, we sheep keep returning the same thieves to the congress year after year.

Need a term limit for congress and senate.
