I am new to this board so I apoligize in advance if this has already been asked.

Has anyone taken their cats to have their teeth cleaned? I have a persian and a himalayan that I adore
(both 10 years old) and have already paid to have their teeth cleaned a couple of times at a $100 a pop. These are the only purebreds I have had. (and I have had a lot of cats). I never had to worry about my other cats teeth, they never had bad breath, and I never had a vet tell me to have their teeth cleaned. Is this a function of the fact they are purebreeds and are susceptable to more problems?

I have no problem paying the money as long as they really need it. any advice would be grreatly appreciated!
