Celebrity did have great seminars on my Panama Canal cruise. Astronomy, photography, history, pirates, etc. I found that part great.

Jeff was right about the engine room tours costing money, but they twice brought the engine room crew up for free talks about the engines, propulsion (rotating screws) and more. THAT's when you saw all the ex-Navy passengers wtih their hats with their ship names asking fascinating questions.

Also historians about the ports of call.

I was talking about DANCING lessons. The professional dancers from the shows taught them and it was GREAT.

Slightly different topic, but DW is a nurse into national healthcare issues so a visit to a hospital or infirmary wherever we go is generally a requirement (we can rate them in Rome, Florence, Venice, Paris, St. Croix or Broken Bow Nebraska). We found out that people go on cruises to die. They can be VERY weak, yet the cruise provides one last chance to be with the children and grandchildren, and/or friends in an environment that is positive. It's a problem for the cruise line, but very common according to the doctor and nurse we visited.
