Congrats, am considering looking into that program. What program did you take, local or national (Kaplan)? How long did it take and what was is it like?

thanks

Hey, Buzman, congratulations!! How long did it take to study for the exam? Where did you get the information? I'm working on a CEBS certificate and found out that, once I have it, I'll only be short a few courses to be ready to take the CFP exam. Hopefully I'll be joining you as a CFP in a few years.

I apologize for being so late.

I took the College for Financial Planning's online course for Investments, Tax Planning, Estate Planning and Retirement Planning.

Kudos for Investments and Estate Planning.

Retirement Planning was not good Tax planning was in the Middle.

I took Insurance Planning at Florida State (online) definitely below the College.

I took a review course (four days) in Tampa with an absolute genius. Prepared us very well for the exam.

I started the program in June 2000 at FSU, took the College's program starting in March of 2001, finished in December 2002.

It's a detailed program a lot of reading. Each course at the College had a 2 1/2 hr. exam.

Thank you for your kind words.

I'm not a CFP you have to have 3 years experience. Posting on TMF does not count.

In prepartion for the exam, I spent about 80 hrs in prestudy, a 4 day review course, followed by 60 hrs study two weeks before the exam.

Of course you may be smarter than me.
