In my Roth IRA this year I bought $125 worth of DODGX on the 10th and the 25th of each month. I could have bought $3,000 of DODGX right at the start of the year, but I didn't. One share of DODGX was going for around $92.60 a share at the 1st of the year. My average price over the whole year was $95.33. Dollar cost averaging cost me this year. In 2001 & 2002 I did not dollar cost average. I more than likely would have lost less in those two years had I dollar cost averaged. Anyone have a crystal ball for next year?
