You have a lot more patience than I do. I don't waste 10 seconds of my time on solicitation calls any more. As soon as I know it's going to be some kind of sales pitch I say, "I'm not interested," and hang up the phone. I don't wait for any reply or acknowledgement.

One person made the stupid mistake of immediately calling back. They started to say something about my not understanding the nature of the call. I cut the lady off in mid-sentence and asked, "What part of 'I'm not interested' don't you understand?" She sheepishly wished me a good day and hung up.
