Good evening,

I donated to a charity in the same week of the Sept 11th attacks and had the gift charged to my credit card. Soon after, I received confirmation via e-mail of the gift. The wrinkle here is that the gift has yet to be charged to my credit card. Let us suppose that the charge does not go through on the card until Jan 2nd, 2002. Can I claim the deduction on 2001 taxes assuming I itemize deductions?
