I was listening to a bit of local talk programming on my NPR station and one of the participants caught my ear when he mentioned his mother fixing "Daufuskie Fish", and always making an announcement about it when she did. Of course I knew I had to find out about it and pass it along.

The topic under discussion is a four-part documentary on Netflix: High on the Hog: How Aftican American Cusine Transformed America. The second episode is focused on the Carolinas, rice, and Gulah food.

That radio program isn't even over yet, so I haven't had time to explore anything, but I had to give you a heads up without delay.
