Someone asked how the Malibu was doing ...

My husband is a relatively new GM employee (since December) in their Information Systems and Services group. He participates in the "Product Evaluation Program" whereby he gets a new car to drive every 60 days (although I think they've changed it to 90 days now).

In any case, he's driven a number of them now, and I'm sorry to say I've been generally unimpressed. The Olds Aurora was a particular stinker. As luck may have it though, he needed a small repair on the Saturn he was driving (broke the glove box) and they gave him a Malibu while the Saturn was in the shop.

WOW! I am totally impressed with this car! Sporty, handles well, ride is smooth, engine is peppy (3.1L V-6), interior is roomy, fit the kids carseats nicely and it's loaded with standard features (incl a cool option on the radio that automatically raises the volume as road noise gets louder, like on the highway) And all for under $20K!

My hope has been restored! I don't know how sales of the Malibu are actually going, but it is a sweet little car, and I'm sure the public will realize it too. Just thought I'd weigh in, and Umillt, I appreciate your posts too.
