Do any of you folks follow Chico's (CHS)? It's not a recommendation of any of the Motley Fool services that I know of, although it was listed in Stocks 2004 and seems to get some coverage in the articles on the main Fool site.

It reached its 52-week high in mid-February -- around $49 -- and has since taken a huge tumble. I was looking at it in June when it was around $29. I'm glad I didn't buy then: Last Thursday it posted less-than-impressive earnings numbers and got hammered again, to a 52-week low of $17.26!

You can read a bit more at:

With a P/E that's now a bit under 16 (down from as much as 50 at one point, I think), it looks like it could be a value play -- a stock that's out of favor in an industry (retail) that's out of favor. Either that, or a company that's just plain in decline and that won't ever reach its previous highs again.

I have printed a bunch of postings from the Chico's board (http://boards.fool.com/Messages.asp?bid=101699) to read, but am especially interested in hearing what the wise Fools who frequent the Hidden Gems boards think about this company's fundamentals, business model, etc.

Thanks in advance.

Tina
