RECIPE: Mock Chocolate Cake

Why would anyone do such a terrible thing? Have ChocoHeretics and Cocoatic Fundementalists taken over my kitchen?

No, I just had lots of toasted carob powder left over from my Dog Brownies recipe and decided to experiment a bit. You could, I suppose, use cocoa powder in place of the carob, but then all you'd have is a tasty, easy to make Chocolate Cake.

Preheat Oven to 350

In a 9x13 baking pan, combine

3 Cups Flour
2 Cups Sugar
1/2 Cup Carob Powder
2 tsp Baking Soda
1 tsp Salt

Pour in:

2 Cups Strong Black Coffee (room temp)
2/3 Cup Vegetable Oil
2 Tbl Vinegar
2 tsp Vanilla

Mix Well
Bake 30-35 minutes

Frost or serve as is.

You'll notice that, except for measuring cups and spoons, the only thing you'll have to wash is a fork or whisk! How neat is that?

SB (next, carob mousse?)
