...delurking

Hi everyone. I hope you don't mind a lurker coming out of the shadows. A lot of medical breakthroughs have occurred in the last 25 years. Back then, the few "test tube" babies were considered wierd science by a lot of people. There was HSG back then, and the first one I had showed one tube totally blocked and the adjoining ovary shrivveled up. Had to have surgery to remove the tube and ovary, they also found a tumor the size of a grapefruit. Still not pregnant after one year, so went through another HSG. Dr. said can't see any reason why I couldn't get pregnant. Called it unexplained infertility. Reproductive specialist were few and far between, centered in a few major metropolitan areas, and extremely hard to get appointments with and expensive. Even basic lab work wasn't covered under insurance. Hope everything that modern science has to offer helps to fulfill your dreams.

Now, to the purpose of this post. On our local afternoon tv news, there was a piece about a infertility trial at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. The reporter mentioned that they are one of eight medical centers offering the trial. http://www.nbc5i.com/health/2166937/detail.html

I thought perhaps this might help some of you who are still looking for that answer.
