CMF FUSKIE SAID:
That's a huge range between Experian and TransUnion. Ideally, all three should be in the same range. Have you pulled your Credit Reports to see if maybe there are things on the Experian or Equifax reports that are incorrect and might be pulling your scores down? You can go to annualcreditreport.com for your free reports from each of the CRAs.

As to your question, there aren't any credit cards designed to improve credit scores - what's really important is how many you have and how you use them.

Actually, that was probably poor wording. I need one that is easily obtainable for someone with not the best credit scores. For the last six years, I have been paying with strictly cash, check or debit card. The only credit card I have is CareCredit, and I make sure to use that every few months and then pay it immediately. The only reason I am even getting one at the current time is that I paid in advance for a stay at a hotel in March. I found out afterwards that I need to present a CC when I get there; debit card will not do. This was not explained to me at the time I paid; otherwise, I would not have accepted the offer.

And, you're right. It does seem like a huge difference. The problem is there is a CC that was closed several years ago. Experian is the only one of the three that is reporting late payments on it every month. So that's the reason for the 621 score with them. It should drop off this year; unfortunately, not until November.
