you have to own one share to participate, the minimum monthly investment (technical term optional cash payment, or OCP) is $30, the maximum quarterly total investment is $5000, money has to be in their hands by the 25th of the month to be invested the first week of the following month.

there are no costs to investors until shares are sold.

the program allows small investors like me to dollar cost average into a company, eliminates all frictional costs beyond a stamp (now that ach payments are available, that too will soon go away for me ) and allows automatic reinvestment of dividends. seems like its worked ok for me for the past three and a half years or so.
