Concerning the SparQ... I seriously wouldn't think of dropping it even a few inches. You can see the hard-disk platter through the see-through case, and it doesn't appear to look like the most rugged thing.

However, SyQuest has started using their old, famous disk enclosures (a 3.5-inch version of their old 44-MB and 88-MB disk holders!) and not the crappy plastic sleeves they used for the EZ135 and EZ230 drives. Inside the protective case, I'd be fairly confident that the cartridge would survive a drop.

But don't ask me to try it! :) Good thing they only cost about $30 each... not bad on a $/MB scale...
