So, Scott Peterson murders his pregnant wife Laci, and is sentenced to death. After 16 years on death row his death sentence was overturned by the California Supreme Court.

Why?

Because potential jurors who were opposed to the death penalty were excluded.

I don't get it. If the death penalty was a possible legal outcome based on the law, then excluding someone opposed to imposing it seems entirely logical to me.

One more item for the long list of things that are screwed up in California...

I will however give them a little credit for allowing his murder conviction to stand and today he was re-sentenced to Life without Parole.
