Right now I am investing in the Vanguard Federal Money Market Fund. Here are my options:
Vanguard Short Term Corporate Fund
Vanguard Wellesley Income Fund
Vanguard Wellington Fund
Vanguard 500 Index Fund
Vanguard Growth Index
Vanguard Windsor Fund
Sequoia Fund
Vanguard Mid Cap Index
Vanguard Small Cap Value Index
Washington Post Stock Fund (they own our co)
Berkshire Hathaway Stock Fund
I want to diversify. I am definitely going to do my own research but I wanted to ask what you all thought. Background info: 25, started this 401K in Jan. Last paycheck said I have a total of $303.38 so far. Do they take that $300 and put it in these funds? Is that how it works? And then at the end of the year, I find out how much I made (if anything) from these funds? Company matches 100% so they put their own $300 in as well and then depending on the funds, I can get either more or less at the end of the year?
Thanks for all your help. Hope I'm not asking too many dumb questions.
