Anyone out there living in Costa Rica?
Just as I was planning to apply for investor residency in Costa Rica, and taking my sweet time about it, I received news that in a few months I will be receiving a substantial lump sum of cash. Uncle Sam plans to keep about half of that cash, however. If I can establish residency in Costa Rica by the time the cash is distributed to me, is it true that I won't have to pay any U.S. taxes? Anyone have experience in how long it takes to establish investor residency in CR?
