Credit card companies do it. Discover has a whole slew of events that it sends out emails about: "Your payment was received", "Warning your due date is coming up", "You are approaching your credit limit".

I like the feature (I think PCBanker offers this) that emails you whenever someone logs in to your account. If get the message and didn't log in, you know your password has been compromised.

Fleet Bank keeps track of all your actions while logged in shows you a summary when you log out. (Paid X bill, transferred Y dollars to checking, etc.)
