I sympathize with CS Boston if they are attempting to bring civility to conversation. I, too, think they are going to get negative results. Unfortunately, civility is not one of the strengths of our electronic age. I don't believe that the right of free speech is a license to say anything we want, no matter who it hurts. Where to draw the line and how to enforce stepping over it is a tough problem.

Your 'play nice, kids' is a good golden rule. If all would at least think that before opinionating, it would clean up discourse: just like putting trash in trash cans would clean up streets.
