Business Relationships With Nortel Networks, SAP and Sprint Demonstrate Focused Strategy for Serving the Needs of Internet Merchants

RESTON, Va., April 13 /PRNewswire/ -- CyberCash, Inc. (Nasdaq: CYCH), the world's leading provider of electronic payment technologies and services, today announced a series of strategic relationships with some of the world's leading technology companies, including Nortel Networks, SAP America, Inc., and Sprint.

These relationships are the result of CyberCash's preeminent expertise in electronic payment processing, and its unique ability to offer Internet merchants both services and software for processing online transactions.

"CyberCash is focused on providing easily integrated payment solutions, both services and software," said Chuck Riegel, executive vice president, worldwide marketing. "We are committed to helping our partners provide the secure, reliable payment processing that Internet merchants need."

CyberCash is the only company that can offer both services and software to its customers for processing electronic payments on the Internet. For customers interested in outsourcing payment services, CyberCash offers CashRegister. For high-volume merchants, partners or customers who prefer an in-house software solution, CyberCash offers WebAuthorize.

Nortel Networks selected CyberCash for Commerce Manager, a suite of products for Web-hosting companies that serve Internet merchants. Nortel recently created its Clarify* eBusiness Applications unit to offer fast, reliable and secure eBusiness solutions for both enterprises and service providers in the B2B market.

Sprint Corporation selected CyberCash for transaction processing in the Sprint eCommerce Storefront. CyberCash enhances the Internet storefronts of Sprint customers by providing secure, electronic transaction payment technology, real-time credit card authentication and processing, and payments with financial institutions, transaction processors and merchants.

SAP(TM) has certified CyberCash as a member of SAP's Complementary Software Program. The interface certification process assures the accurate exchange of data between WebAuthorize and the SAP business applications backbone. SAP, the world leader in inter-enterprise solutions serving 12,000 companies in 90 countries, now offers its customers the ability to choose WebAuthorize to process credit card transactions and settle payments.

"These latest companies join a growing group of alliances including IBM and Microsoft, which chose CyberCash because of the quality of our technology, the experience of our people and our understanding of the Internet marketplace," said Nancy Goldberg, executive vice president of North American sales.

IBM is working with CyberCash as a payment processing option for WebSphere** Commerce Suite and WebSphere Payment Manager, IBM's Family of e-commerce solutions, that enables Web storefronts, Internet Service Providers, Application Service Providers and others to host Internet payments for multiple merchants.

Microsoft has integrated CyberCash into Microsoft Site Server 3.0, Commerce Edition, designed for medium and large e-commerce businesses. Site Server Commerce Edition enables companies to engage and transact business online with customers and partners by creating commerce sites and applications. CyberCash's service was selected as the most proven and well- known payment processing technology available to e-businesses.
