Women
Curling:
Great Britain conceeds to Norway, but beat Italy. Sweden beats Japan and Denmark. Team USA wins over Italy 11-3. Switzerland beats the Russian Federation. Japan wins over Canada.

Biathlon: 10km Pursuit:
Gold to Kati Wilhelm (GER), Silver for Martina Glagow (GER), Bronze for Albina Akhatova (RUS). Rachel Steer (USA) was 39th.

Short Track: 1500m:
A crazy crowded track with 7 in the final race! Sun-Yu Jin (KOR) wins Gold and Eun-Kyung Choi (KOR) takes the Silver. Meng Wang (CHN) got the Bronze due to a disqualification of Chun-Sa Byun (KOR). Erika Huszar (HUN) was 4th, Amanda Overland (CAN) was 5th and Tatiana Borodulina (RUS) was also disqualified. Team USA's Allison Baver and Halie Kim both got to the semifinals where their hopes for a medal ended.

Cross-Country Skiing: 4x5km Relay:
Gold to the Russian Federation, Silver for Germany and Bronze is won by the home team Italy, 4th Sweden, 5th Norway, 6th Czech Republic, 7th Finland, 8th Ukraine, 9th France, 10th Canada. Team USA was 14th.

Alpine Skiing:
Combined Downhill:
Janica Kostelic (CRO) wins Gold, her 5th Olympic Medal. Silver goes to Marlies Schild (AUT) and Bronze to Anja Paerson (SWE). Julia Mancuso (USA) was 9th and Resi Stiegler (USA) 14th.

Men
Biathlon: 12.5km Pursuit:
An amazing race! Vincent Defrasne of France poured it on after a little slip to ski past Ole Einar Bjoerndalen of Norway to claim the Gold. Sven Fischer (GER) took the Bronze. Ilmars Bricis (LAT) was 4th and Halvard Hanevold (NOR) and Frode Andresen (NOR) who were for a time leading finished 5th and 6th. Tim Burke (USA) was 38th and Lowell Bailey (USA) was 50th.

Curling:
Team USA wins over Germany 8-5. Italy beats Canada. Switzerland loses to Great Britain. Finland wins.

Ice Hockey:
Team USA loses in a battle against Slovakia 2-1. Russia, Canada and Finland won. Sweden beats Latvia 6-1. Italy and Germany tied 3 to 3.

Speed Skating: 1000m:
Team USA goes one-two with Shani Davis winning Gold and Joey Cheek taking Silver. Shani Davis is the first African American to win an individual Gold medal in the Winter Games. Erben Wennemars (NED) wins Bronze, Chad Hedrick (USA) was 6th, Casey Fitzrandolph (USA) in most likely his last Olympics finished 9th and Jeremy Wotherspoon (CAN) was 11th.

Ski Jumping: Large Hill Individual:
Thomas Morgenstern (AUT) with the longest jump of the competition won Gold, his roommate Andreas Kofler (AUT), who didn't take a practice run because he feels his best jump is always his first, grabbed the Silver. Lars Bystoel (NOR) who won Gold on the Normal hill was awarded the Bronze. Matti Hautamaeki (FIN) who won Silver on the Normal Hill finished 5th. Janne Ahonen (FIN), in his last Olympics, was 9th and Simon Ammann (SUI), the wonder boy from the Salt Lake Olympics, was 15th. Alan Alborn, the only American to quality for today, did not move to the second jump round.

Bobsled: Two-Man:
There will be 4 heats, these are the standings after 2. Track Record set by Lange/Kuske (GER) who are in first. They are followed by Lueders/Brown (CAN), Annen/Hefti (SUI), Hoepfner/Kuehne (GER), Zoubkov/Voevoda (RUS), Hays/Jovanovic (USA), Rueegg/Grand (SUI), Bertazzo/Torchio (ITA), Minis/Dreishkens (LAT) and Stampfer/Seelos (AUT). Holcomb/Schuffenhauer (USA) are in 14th place.

Alpine Skiing: Super G:
After starting the race and then stopping it several skiiers had disasterous results, including Steve Nyman (USA), Pierre-Emmanuel Dalcin (FRA) and Bode Miller (USA) who skiied off the course. Kjetil Andre Aamodt (NOR) who has 8 Olympic medals took Gold, Hermann Maier (AUT) Silver, Ambrosi Hoffmann (SUI) took the Bronze. Scott Macartney (USA) finished 7th and Daron Rahlves (USA) finished 9th. Alexander Heath of South Africa was 50th and Albania's sole athlete 19 year old Erjon Tola was 56th.

Short Track: 1000m:
Ahn Jyun-Soo (KOR) won Gold with an Olympic Record, Lee Ho-Suk (KOR) Silver and Apolo Anton Ohno (USA) got Bronze. Rusty Smith (USA) who set an Olympic Record in his Quarterfinal heat finished 4th.
