200m Backstroke Finals
Kirsty Coventry (ZIM) has won Zimbabwe's first two swimming medals ever in these Games, today she won the color that was missing, Gold. A tie for Bronze put Margaret Hoelzer (USA) 5th.

Basketball: Women beat Spain 71-58.

Sailing
470-With a first place finish in the race today Greece was able to claim Gold, the rest of the medals will be decided on Saturday.

10,000m Final
Ethiopia took home Gold (Kenenisa Bekele, who set an Olympic Record) and Silver (Sileshi Sihine). Bronze for Zersenay Tadesse of Eritrea. 5th was awarded to Haile Gebrselassie. Team USA: Daniel Browne 12th, Abdihakem Abdirahman 15th, Dathan Ritzhein didn't finish.

Scott Parsons (USA) made the finals. Brett Heyl (USA) was 15th and didn't make the finals.

Michael Phelps (USA) set a new Olympic Record and managed to out touch (somehow!) Ian Crocker (USA) for the Gold!

Gary Hall Jr. (USA) with Gold, Duje Draganja Silver, first Swimming medal for Croatia, Roland Schoeman (RSA) Bronze, Jason Lezak (USA) 5th, Brett Hawke (AUS) 6th, Salim Illes (ALG) 8th.
