Soccer: USA wins over Germany in overtime and moves to the Gold Medal Match.

63kg-Sara McMann-Wins a Surprise Silver!
48kg-Patricia Miranda-Wins the Bronze Medal!
Tela O'Donnell (55kg) and Toccara Montgomery (72kg) finish in 7th place.

Beach Volleyball: USA v. USA! Misty May/Kerri Walsh outplayed Holly McPeak/Elaine Youngs today and moved on to the Gold Medal match. Holly and Elaine will go on to the Bronze Medal match.

Sychronized Swimming: Duet: Technical Routine: Russia 1st, Japan 2nd, USA 3rd, Spain 4th, France 5th, Canada 6th.

20km Walk Final
Greek athlete Athanasia Tsoumeleka wins Gold.
200m Heats
Allyson Felix (USA) and Muna Lee (USA) won their first race and move to the Quarterfinals. LaShaunte'a Moore (USA) advances.
200m Quarterfinals
Allyson Felix (USA) and Muna Lee (USA) again win their Heats and advance to the Semifinals. LaShaunte'a Moore (USA) also advances.
Hammer Throw Qualifying
From USA-Erin Gilreath, Jackie Jeschelnig and Anna Mahon, none advance to the Finals.
Triple Jump Final
Francoise Mbango Etone from Cameroon wins Gold. This is just the 4th medal for Cameroon, and their second Gold. Hrysopiyi Devetzi (GRE) wins Silver.
100m Hurdles Semifinals
Joanna Hayes (USA) wins heat, moves to Finals; as does Melissa Morrison (USA) and Canada's Perdita Felicien.
800m Final
Kelly Holmes (GBR) Gold, Hasna Benhassi (Morocco) Silver, Jearl Miles Clark (USA) ran a Season Best and was 6th.
5000m Final
Meseret Defar (ETH) who just wanted to run in the Olympics, won Gold today.

Boxing: Jason Estrada (USA) loses to Cuba's M. Lopez 21-7.

First time since 1988 USA has swept the medals! First time in Athens that a country has won all three medals in one event. Jeremy Wariner (USA) Gold, Otis Harris (USA) Silver, Derrick Brew (USA) Bronze.

Robert Fazekas (HUN) wins Gold with an Olympic Record, Virgilijus Alekna (Lithuania) Silver (last year's Gold medalist), Zoltan Kovago (HUN) Bronze, Casey Malone (USA) 7th.

Basketball: USA achieved another win, this time over Angola.

Vault-Marian Dragulescu (ROM) had an absolutely beautiful first vault, a 9.900, but stumbled on the second and ended up with the Bronze.

Horizontal Bar-Igor Cassina of Italy with Gold, Paul Hamm with Silver, Isao Yoneda (JPN) Bronze, Morgan Hamm 4th, Alexei Nemov of Russia 5th, Tae Young Yang of South Korea 10th.

Water Polo: USA lost to Serbia-Montenegro

K1-1000m Heats
Benji Lewis (USA) advances to the Semifinals.
K2-1000m Heats
Jeffrey Smoke/Andrew Bussey (USA) go to the Semifinals.

Jordan Malloch/Nathan Johnson (USA) sail into the Semifinals.

Volleyball: USA grabs a Quarterfinal spot by beating Brazil.

Diving: 3m Springboard Prelims: The top 18 move on. Troy Dumais (USA) was fifth. Poor Justin Wilcock (USA) who has stress fractures in his back and who almost didn't compete fell out of his 5th dive and did not complete the dive he had said he would do. When that happens, you get a zero for that dive. He finished in 32nd (last) place. Others who will go to the Semifinals: Alexandre Despatie (CAN), Bo Peng (CHN), Rober Newbery (AUS), Joona Puhakka (Greece), Tony Ally (GBR), and Steve Barnett (AUS).
