Triathalon: Kate Allen (Austria) wins Gold after being 44th out of the water at the swim, Australian Loretta Harrop won Silver, Susan Williams (USA) after crashing her bike on the first turn captured the Bronze. American's Barbara Lindquist (9th) and Sheila Taormina (23rd) also competed.

Cycling: Points Race: Erin Mirabella (USA) finished 4th.

Diving: 3m Springboard: Preliminaries: Kimiko Soldati (USA) who finished 21st will not advance to the Semifinals. The following divers (among others) will advance to the Semifinals: Rachelle Kunkel (USA) in 12th, Yulia Pakhalina (RUS) in 1st, Blythe Hartley (CAN) in 2nd, Guo Jingjing (CHN) in 3rd, Loudy Tourky (AUS) in 5th, Irina Lashko (AUS) in 8th, Emilie Heymans (CAN) in 7th.

Sailing: Mistral: Barbara Kendall (NZL) 5th, Jessica Crisp (AUS) 6th, Lanee Beashel (USA) 16th.

Canoe/Kayak Flatwater: K4-500m-Semifinals: Australia win the race, they move to the Finals along with Canada and Japan. USA was eliminated.

Synchronised Swimming: Duet Free Routine-Final: Russia-Gold, Japan-Silver, USA's Alison Bartosik/Anna Kozlova win Bronze.

Benjamin Lewis (USA) lost his race today.
Jeffrey Smoke/Andrew Bussey (USA) finished 7th in their heat and do not move on.
Jordan Malloch/Nathan Johnson (USA) finished 8th in their heat and do not move on. Canada's Canoe will move on.

120kg-Rulon Gardner won the Bronze Medal today, afterwards he took of his shoes and laid them in the middle of the mat. This is the way in which a great wrestler retires, it was a very emotional moment for Rulon.
60kg-James Gruenwald (USA) finished 10th in the competition.
96kg-Steven Lowney (USA) was in 20th place at the end of the day.

Beach Volleyball: Switzerland beat Australia in a very exciting match to win the Bronze Medal. Ricardo/Emanuel (BRA) win Gold, Bosma/Herrera will settle for Silver.

Tornado-USA team John Lovell/Charlie Ogeltree had a bad day and are now second, they trail the leaders by 7 points.
Star-Grael/Ferreira (BRA) currently in first, MACDONALD/WOLFS (CAN) in 2nd, Paul Cayard/Phil Trinter (USA) are in 3rd, just one point ahead of the Denmark and French crews.
Mistral-Gal Fridman (Israel) wins Gold, Nikolaos Kaklamanakis (Greece) with Silver, Nick Dempsey (GBR) Bronze, Peter Wells (USA) finishes 28th.

Boxing: 75kg-Middle Weight: Andre Dirrell (USA) wins 12-11 and goes to the Semifinals.

Volleyball: USA won a very close match against Greece today. 25-20, 22-25, 25-27, 25-23, 17-15. A strange play ensued during the 5th game. A whistle was blown in the crowd and the Greek team did not hit the ball, thinking that an official had whistled, they protested, but the play was not done over and a point was awarded to the US Team.

Martin Neufstein (USA) didn't advance despite a second chance in the Repechage. Ryan Bailey representing Australia won Gold. He is the first man in 44 years to win 2 Gold Medals in Individual Races at the same Olympics.
Australia's Brown/O'Grady win Gold. Germany's Bartko/Fulst 4th.

Weightlifting: 105kg+: Shane Hamman (USA) finished 7th overall. Hossein Reza Zadeh (Iran) wins Gold, Viktors Scerbatihs (Latvia's first medal in Weightlifting) Silver, Velichko Cholakov (Bulgaria) Bronze.

5000m Round 1
Tim Broe (USA) moves to the Final.
Pole Vault Qualifying Round
All three athletes representing the USA qualify for the finals! Make sure to cheer for: Derek Miles, Toby Stevenson and Timothy Mack.
800m Round 1
Jonathan Johnson (USA) and Wilson Kipketer (DEN) advance to the Semifinals. From the USA Khadevis Robinson and Derrick Peterson were unable to move out of Round 1.
110 Hurdles Round 2
Allen Johnson (USA) goes down after tripping over a hurdle and did not finish the race. Terrence Trammell (USA) finished 3rd and qualifies for the next round. Duane Ross (USA) who was 4th in his Heat, grabbed the final time qualifier and advances as well.
200m Semifinals
Shawn Crawford (USA) and Justin Gatlin (USA) won their heats and move to the finals along with Bernard Williams (USA) and Francis Obikwelu (Portugal).


Equestrian: Individual Dressage Grand Prix Freestyle: Ulla Salzgeber (GER) Silver, Deborah McDonald (USA) 4th, Robert Dover (USA) 6th, Guenter Seidel (USA) 14th.
