Dear Fellow Fool,

Most of the brokers do accept foreign accounts.

To save you a little time, the following brokers, however, do not accept foreign accounts: I believe dljdirect did at one time but they e-mailed me and said that presently they do not. They accept foreign accounts but e-mailed me stating they do not normally accept non-periodic wire transfers.

Here are some that do accept foreign accounts. $7.95/market trade $8.00/ market trade $9.95/market trade $9.95 (they accept foreign accounts now and state they will be expanding their service to better meet the needs of foreign accounts $14.95 $14.95 $29.95 $29.95

This is a good site which lists many more discount brokers and it gives you their links.

I would suggest going to their websites and looking for a "contact us" section where they give you their e-mail address. Just write them a short note requesting application forms and information. Make sure to include your address. I was very surprised at how many of them sent materials to me here in Japan.

At most of the sites you can also fill out an online application or you can download their forms and mail them in later.

Good Luck,

Ps. Also check out Other Discount Broker Resources on this web site.
