BEAM is a fine company and one I’ve owned for quite some time. However, I’m not sure I would trust the chart data you linked or for that matter do I understand how the history was derived. If the older data comes from the original Fortune Brands trading history then let me point out that the Titleist and Footjoy franchises were sold to FILA in 2010 and the remaining businesses were split into two distinct companies – BEAM and FBHS in 2011. In looking at the BMW chart, the funky drops around that timeframe would seem to indicate these divestitures have not been taken into account properly.
