Depending on current age and family history, "retirement" could last 20-30 years. Need an investment style that will outpace inflation, therefore primarily stocks.

Would have 3-5 years living money in cash equivalants. Personally would avoid bonds unless you can hold them through maturity because you could loose principle if not.

The rest, stocks. Personally prefer BSP, Keystone, and PEG. But study up the screens for yourself and pick those you are most comfortable in using.
