Do any or all of the mutual funds offered in the 401k plan have a front end load? If so, lobby to get some mutual funds that have lower costs, such as an S&P 500 Index Fund.

All of the funds offered in my 401k are front end load funds. It has cost me a bundle. If you project out growth over 20 to 30 years, it gets downright depressing.

In short, watch the fees!
