Do you have an emergency fund?
7 months sitting in a 1.3% savings account at the moment but that could be easily stretched further with lifestyle changes. Another advantage I have is that my employment is very secure.

What is your risk tolerance?
Medium-high. I would have a heart attack day trading or investing in only 1-2 stocks but would have no resignations about investing 100% of the $10k I'm starting out with in at least 5 well researched growth stocks. 2009ish was more about trying and failing to time the market then it was about panic. The panic came after selling at the bottom...

What sector interests you?
I grew up in agriculture and work in finance and IT so those 3 are the sectors that perk my interest when reading financial news.

You have two properties? Real estate?
A personal home and a rental home. We've considered more real estate, but I'm unwilling to go into any kind of debt again. I have a very secure job but we have a very average household income so it would take awhile to buy another property with cash. REIT's are certainly interesting; I just haven't gone very deep into researching it yet.
