Don't feel bad... I just did something equally as goofy.

Online Citi card payment notice. $0.00 payment due, but balance of $21.00 . Didn't realize we hadn't made a payment on this card in over a month, so paid the $21.00, about 1 week past due.

3 days later, new statement. $29.00 late fee, for the $0.00 payment due. Aaargh. It's our fault the payment wasn't made, but difficult to explain to DH. Just something dumb. He called them and they graciously removed the $2.57 interest charge from the late fee. So thoughtful of them!

DH closed the account... we didn't use it much anyway, and frankly it's getting difficult to keep track of the occasionally-used charge cards.
