I used the guide to buy into the PP with a certain % of available funds.
The remainder of the funds to be used to invest as the PP shows more focus and winners take the lead.

However, when you invest in a stock like MongoDB and it goes up 40% (great!) but you've only invested $1k into it (the rest across the PP), aren't you lowering your baseline average when you buy a stock at higher levels, say $10, $20, $30, then your average purchase is $20.

OR does it not matter with this approach, that particular stocks are seen as rising so high, the basis doesn't matter?
