Bruins went into the game last night with 1/2 there D being AHL; Vaakanainen, Achan, Lewington. The last of which I had not heard of (though he has had a few NHL games).<ILewington, skating in his 11th career NHL game, became the 1,012th player to appear in an NHL game this season. According to Sportsnet Stats, that figure is a league record https://nesn.com/2022/01/how-tyler-lewington-made-nhl-histor...FWIW Vaakanainen has had a few cups of coffee in the NHL and always fared well. Should be an NHL player somewhere IMO, but went into this season ~ 5th on the LD depth chart for the B's.
OCD: 1/2 their D
And lost on the 18th 7-1, giving up 5 goals in the 1st period, at home - with that "D", to the 'Canes. 1st time THAT'S happened in 40 years.
And lost on the 18th 7-1, giving up 5 goals in the 1st period, at home - with that "D",That was awful. Watched the first and ... a few minutes of 2nd, and I was done. But ... not really due to the inexperienced 'D'. They got most of their 'starters' back for that game (except Reilly, so Vaakanainen still played). They spread that incompetence around too, as 4 of the D were -2 on the game and the other 2 (Carlo, Grzelcyk) were just -1.
