As I mentioned earlier, at the suggestion of a poster here, I started reading DUNE House Harkonnen. I've been enjoying it (there's just no time).
I was wondering if anyone else was struck with the similarities between the desert people of Arrakis in the book and the terrorist group living in Afganistan? I often find myself drawing parallels when CNN reports on the difficulties of the terrain. It makes me wonder where Herbert and/or Anderson gained their experience to write about such an environment.
