Ears: I understand what you are saying but Paul is correct the Russian Roulette is a poor analogy.
Spur of the moment I suspect? But I also use the S&P 500 to compare my results. If I wasn't trying to do this on my own I would invest in SPY so it seems appropriate. As others have said I am more conservative than Saul and yet my returns before the big melt down today were at 35 percent for the year.
We all have our risk tolerance and every time Saul or Paul or Chris and others post their returns I am tempted to just follow them exactly, but I am not built that way so I do my own thing and try to keep learning. Like Saul I have been retired for 15 years and live off my investment income..
