I'm surprised to read that estate tax exemption now applies to singles. Previously it was $5.5MM for singles and you needed an AB By-pass trust to double that for a married couple. But apparently the number for all estates is now $11,580,000.

Apparently the rule was changed in 2018. I missed it.
