In 2000 I made good money for the first time in my life, only I withheld too little so now turbotax tells me I will be forced to pay "estimated tax" for 2001.

Small problem. I haven't made any money since the end of 2000, so I couldn't possibly pay estimated taxes on money I haven't even earned! What am I supposed to do?!

How did I get in this mess? I took time off from school so I could pay off my student loans. To anyone thinking of doing this, DON'T! The government screws you much more thoroughly for trying to "do the right thing."
