Has anybody experience with E*trade Australia? They charge A$50 per trade, more than some others, but quotes, info, news & charts are supposed to be free.

I switched to e*trade from greenline. It seems to have all the info you would probably want. eg
Market depth,
volume and price charts,
detailed information on most companies,
predictions from a number of brokers etc
It is not as cheap as say Com Bank but then the minimum bank balance at E*trade is $70 (I think) not $5,000 which is I think what Com Bank require.

Yup .... just started using E*Trade too. Good so far. Managed to pick up e-cprp shares at 2.15 when market seemed to be trading them strongly at 2.19 - 2.20. (I like automation!) Everything happens as it should so far. Only other one to look at is perhaps Sanford, their price per trade is about $10 less than E*Trade, but they charge a $10 pm fee for their information and research service, so it's swings and roundabouts! If you're not doing a large number of trades, it's probably better to stick with E*Trade, I'd say.
Good luck!
