Eugene Volokh has some thoughts on how we are in a real mess regarding succession which includes even Pelosi becoming president.

My personal thoughts. Is it money or power? She has money. We frequently discuss here the Totalitarian overriding desire for power. Harris sits a heart beat away from the presidency with a feeble president who has a strong likelihood not making it to 2024.

Harris will remain in office minus staff and sharing a closet with brooms and cleaning supplies with a vinyl covered card table as a desk and folding chair. She will remain up to date on current events through a J. C. Penny portable black and white television from 1981. Aluminum foil on the rabbit eared antenna providing the best reception. One heart beat away. She's not going anywhere voluntarily.

Harris is an elected official. Impeachment is the only way to remove her. For what? It's not impossible, but highly unlikely.

Even less likely is Hillary! as VP. Obamabots will put a stop to it before it gets traction. If there is a VP replacement, Michelle Obama would be a name seriously tossed about.

If Dems take a monumental drubbing in 2022, it may be enough to bring them back to reality. In that case I can see a Manchin candidacy. Of course a drubbing requires Republicans to be half way on their game and well, we know how that works.
