Am I wrong to think that the echo is wrong?
(the verb "to be" does not have an object, so "it is I", not "it is me.")

Hmmmm....I really thought the echo was correct. But now....I looked it up. The echo should keep its mouth shut, it appears. But I will continue saying it the wrong way, because it SOUNDS right. And the right way sounds weird and stilted.

In French, C'est moi, but in English, It is I. I learned that listening to Lancelot sing in Camelot when I was a kid. I personally think the irregularities of English are highly overrated by people who like to find things to correct, and generally find their way to the trash heaps of history after a while, and well they might.
