....except that:

In an interview that will air in its entirety on Sunday's "This Week," House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi gave ABC's Martha Raddatz a firm "no" when asked if a deal to avert the so-called "fiscal cliff" could exclude tax rate hikes on the wealthy. Pelosi, D-Calif., said that simply closing loopholes and capping tax deductions for the wealthy would not suffice.

"Well, no… just to close loopholes is far too little money," Pelosi said. "If it's going to bring in revenue, the president has been very clear that the higher income people have to pay their fair share."
With all due respect, how would the person who said, "we have to pass it to find out what's in it" and "it's the 14th amendment, or maybe the 11th amendment, or something, whatever" know anything about loopholes and what they could possible bring in? It's all about punishment, not revenue, it's got to be visible to their envious base too, it can't be something like deductions. I don't understand why they don't keep hammering Obama about the GDP growth when he first extended the cuts and what he said about not raising taxes in a downturn, and what he's saying now that growth is even more paltry.
