Another home sale question:

I sold sold my primary/only residence of three years last summer and excluded the $10k gain. I simultaneously bought another residence which I'm selling after just over a year of ownership and use. I'm wondering if I can claim change in workplace as the reason. I live in and work in White Plains and have been trying to arrange a transfer to work in Midtown Manhattan. I initiated the sale of my place in anticipation of this transfer. Since this transfer is voluntary and conceivably within commuting distance (although I'm moving to NYC so I can walk to work and avoid commuting altogether) can I use it as a reason to exclude my profit on the sale of this home? Is the exclusion due to change in place of employment beholden to minimal distances and wether the transfer is forced or voluntary?
