So it is a choice, but it is a pragmatic choice, and one that is well justified by the observed constancy of the processes we have so far described.

I find it hard to argue with that.

I wonder if ID would go away if the government, instead of decreeing that no criticisms of Darwinism will be allowed in public school, would instead mandate that a simple disclaimer be read at the beginning of every school year in biology "We study natural causes. If there are also actually supernatural causes involved, that's not for science to say".
